DIGITAL REFERENCE SERIES Digital Reference Standard Ultra High Fidelity Picture & Sound

The Digital Reference Standard is your guarantee of R&B Films' commitment to the highest attainable quality in home entertainment. Each disc is mastered for the best possible reproduction of video and audio, routinely surpassing today's standards in our ongoing pursuit of the ultimate entertainment experience.

The process begins with the source material. Digital content arrives pristine, while analog material is processed through a series of procedures designed to maintain the integrity and purity of the signal. In addition, wherever possible, an extremely high sampling rate of 24bits/96kHz is utilized to preserve audio resolution for multi-channel sound.

DRS also takes the aesthetics into consideration: original film and recording elements are used whenever available -- with mastering often supervised by the original filmmakers -- to ensure the original artistic vision is honored and, if possible, enhanced throughout the entire process.

R&B Films works closely with industry-leading engineers and facilities to create a digital master with video and audio fidelity rendered at its absolute zenith. This devotion to detail continues through the authoring and replication processes to arrive at a finished disc capable of presenting the full aural and visual impact intended by its creators.

Look for the DRS logo to certify that you are experiencing reference quality and enjoy the home entertainment benchmark for the new millennium.

Planet Earth meets Fantasia meets Pink Floyd
I could only stand this DVD for about 15 minutes. My wife finally said, "Please put on something else, it's giving me a headache!" I tried it out from Netflix before deciding to buy. I didn't care for the "music," nor did I care for the tidbits of animation layered over the nature scenes. I did like the nature scenes on their own; I just wish they had left them alone. Granted, this sort of thing is subjective, and while I can see why some people might really enjoy it (thus two stars instead of one), it is certainly not for me, nor for my wife, for that matter, so two votes against.

John S. Banks does it again.
Once again John S. Banks, the artist responsible for "Nature's Journey", has given us a wonderful work of early 21st century art. His previous works Illuminated Manuscripts and Ritual Path showed him to be a uniquely creative filmmaker and animator. With this offering he takes us on an even more far flung journey into the mind of the artist contemplating nature through his digital-imaging-tools-eye. The tone is spiritual and calming. I can recommend this DVD for anyone interested in digital art, animation, and meditation.

For focus and inspiration
The best creative works inspire more creative works - and that's just what this does. I found the images and music to create a great atmosphere to which I can write, read, and either focus on a task or be inspired to create something new.

Definitely worth checking out. And I hope they make another one!

Nature's Journey
This video was very different from what I expected based on the title. The added animation over the natural scenery was a turn off. The title should be animator's journey. If you're looking for natual scenery, chose another video.

Just what I like
Yes, the images has CG (computer generated) images, like addition branches, superimposed scenery. I was hoping for that and its there. Hope they will make a series of that.
