Better Than Expected
Yes, I got sucked in by a late night infomercial... and this program is better then I expected. The pace and level of difficulty are good for beginners. Mari explains things pretty well and her "students" do a good job of demonstrating. I used them for many months before I started looking for more Pilates DVDs. A good purchase.

Pilates DVDs
I bought both a new and a used set of the Winsor Pilates DVD's. Both arrived quickly and in good condition. Although I have not yet used them as I still have my original tapes, all appears to be in order.

Love This Set - way too overpriced
I have this set on VHS and love it - she gives simple to follow instructions and unlike many other people I like the slower pace and for the first time in my life have muscles I never had before. However I feel the sellers on Amazon are charging way too much for this set - I paid less for it 5 yrs ago from the official site and unlike the other sets available it only has 2 actual workouts - the 20 minute basic and the accelerated workout. I still want to replace my VHS copies tho.

Waste of time and money!
Before you get fooled by the infomercial, do yourself a favor and do some research. Read reviews everywhere or borrow it from the library first. She won people's attention by a great marketing strategy. Yes, the celebrities and skinny models endorsing them.....those people have good genes and private chef to cook for them. But let me be fair, her moves would help show more toned muscles on people who are already slim. However, to claim that you'd lose the weight doing her program...I don't think so. Although it's written in fine print (in the pamphlet that came with the DVDs) that you'd change how your body looks when you combine it with sensible eating and cardio.....Bottomline, there are other much better Pilates programs like Ellen Barrett's or even Denise Austin's. I'm not a big fan of Denise Austin but I'd do her Pilates over Mari's....Her video has a lot of talking and very few reps. NOT recommended!

Great for beginners
These are fantastic for beginners. As other reviewers stated, Mari explains very clearly how to do these exercises properly. I found that after I learned how to do them I tired of listening to the explanations and it took too much time. So, I spent an hour writing down the exercises in the order they occur on both workouts. I keep that paper in my workout log (along with my papers from her other dvd's, I have and would recommend almost all of them) and just do the pilates without the dvd most of the time. Every couple of weeks I pull out the dvd and do the workout with Mari to remind myself of proper form, etc. But, for the most part, I work off my written copy. It works well and saves me time! It also allows me to listen to a book on cd, music, the news, whatever else I want to listen to and still get a good workout in.
