The story begins with the training and preparation for the expedition, including crevasse rescue practice. The area is so remote that the only way for the team to arrive was via a ski plane from Iceland. This was the first ever expedition to a group of unnamed, unmapped and unexplored mountain ranges near the Kangerdlugssuaq region of East Greenland. Base camp was set on the edge of the two mile thick ice-cap. Watch as the team complete eight first ascents, with some steep ice climbed with ice axes, ice screws, crampons and other hi-tech gear, mostly under the midnight sun. This program captures the feel of how to live on the icecap; and the intricacies of hauling sledges, front pointing up steep ice, and installing protection on the ice faces.
